Julian Nisenboim

Virtual Production Supervisor in Chicago, building LED volume workflows, in camera VFX pipelines, real time tools for the stage, and studios from the ground up.

I started in an editing role, pitched a virtual production studio to our CEO, and spent the next year building it. Now I run that stage, supervise the shoots on it, and write the tools that keep it moving.

How the studio came together

A multimillion dollar LED volume at Impact Networking, from the first conversation to daily production.

  1. 1

    The opportunity

I joined Impact Networking in a junior editing role and saw an opportunity no one else was pursuing.

  2. 2

    The pitch

I walked into the CEO's office and made the case for a full virtual production studio, built from scratch.

  3. 3

    The build

A year designing the system architecture and integrating every component of the stage.

  4. 4

    The stage

Running it since day one: keeping it at industry standard, training teams, and developing ICVFX workflows.

    About

I'm a Virtual Production Supervisor based in Chicago, with a background in film and television production. For the past four years I've worked across virtual production, in camera VFX, VR content, cinematography, audio, and AI integrated workflows.

I like owning a project from end to end, from studio builds to Emmy nominated commercial work, and I work closely with marketing, sales, and executive teams to get it there.

Beyond production, I write code in C++ and Swift and build custom tools that streamline the pipeline. Through NeonLabs, I take on virtual production consulting, custom software, and freelance production.
